Melinda Clem has nearly 20 years finance and corporate development experience in telecommunications and Internet infrastructure sectors. She began her career in corporate finance with positions at COMSAT and Global Telesystems Group. In 2000, she began work with Neustar and was part of ICANN’s first expansion of Internet addresses, garnering them the .biz TLD. Melinda continued with Neustar Corporate Development and expanded their domain portfolio, working with both public and private sector partners. Melinda next moved to Verisign and was responsible for securing their .net contract and evaluating other new businesses. During this time, she has also taught graduate strategy and communications courses for Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. For the past 8 years, Melinda’s independent consulting is focused in the domain industry, specifically working with Afilias on a variety of their new TLD opportunities. Other engagements include early stage projects in retail data analytics, mobile applications, and IoT initiatives.

Melinda has a BA in Philosophy from American University and MBA from George Washington University.
