The i2Coalition believes that an open and free Internet encourages innovation, drives economic growth and enhances the lives of people across around the world. As a result, our focus is global in nature.
Issues like privacy, cybersecurity and surveillance are not country specific. We advocate for our members on these issues in global forums like ICANN and the United Nations. And our advocacy extends to controversial issues like respect for local laws. For instance, we filed a brief in the recent Microsoft Ireland case supporting the position that the U.S. government should have used Irish law to seize data from Microsoft’s servers. Participation in the i2Coalition allows you to bring up EU specific issues to the group as a whole, and gain support for advocacy for your positions.
We promote policies that foster the continued development, expansion and success of the Internet worldwide and the businesses that support it. For more information on the key issues impacting i2Coalition members globally, please review the below.
